Metabolic profiles of diruthenium trithiolato complexes and ruthenium hexacationic prisms investigated by HRMAS NMR Spectroscopy
(M. Vermathen, L. Paul, F. Giannini, J. Furrer)
The metabolic response of A2780 human cancer cells to the treatment with different ruthenium complexes is studied by HR-MAS NMR spectroscopy. A broad range of cell metabolites including amino acids, lipid components and nucleotides can be detected with the aid of 2D methods like 2D HR-MAS 1H1H -TOCSY in the living cell systems. Qualitative and quantitative changes in the cell metabolic profile are evaluated to assess intracellular targets and the mechanisms of cytotoxic reactions induced by the ruthenium complexes.
